The sites below are in no particular order. However, they are all really great information places or resources. I will add to them as time goes on, and if you want including, please get in touch.
My daughter is a fibre artist, who creates amazing yarns that are unique to her own special recipes! She has a natural talent, that I find daunting.
This lady has alsorts, including lots of fibre people and resources to take a look at.
The Loom Exchange
For second hand wheels (and looms). You need to be careful to buy a second hand wheel from a spinner, so that they can be honest about it's working. I see some on ebay and my flesh crawls. If it looks too cheap, it is too cheap. If the seller uses unfamiliar terminology, it means they don't know what they are talking about and the wheel may not meet your needs.
World of Wool
For supplies of dyed wool etc. They stock colours of fleece other than merino. The shop is a treasure trove!
Again, supplies of dyed wool. The sheds are amazing, and they sell ashford and kromski equipment, plus all the little bits and pieces. I have family nearby, so a great excuse for a visit!
P and M Woolcraft.
Supplies, plus lots of different makes of spinning wheel. Pretty competetive usually.
The Spinners groups on facebook are wonderful. There is amazing information from people who spin and have experience. Worth being on the beast for the groups alone perhaps?
The Online Guild of Spinners Weavers Dyers
If you can't get to a meeting with a guild, then the online can fill the gap. Very reasonable subscription rates.
For supplies of natural dyes (and all round awesomeness), Helen is a font of information. Her natural dye books are truly amazing.
Again for natural dye supplies.
I find ravelry a bit daunting. I love it if I have time to have a good look round. I am in some wonderful groups and if you manage to buy a second hand wheel from one of the spinning groups, you can be fairly sure it will be a good one.
Her book, Wild Colour, is my bible for natural dyes. For more information take a look at
This is an American magazine, published four times a year. The amazing Jacey Boggs Faulkner is behind it. Each magazine concentrates on a theme, giving brilliant detail.
